British-US Spelling

iSearch Analytics handles common spelling variations between British English and US English terms. For example: 

    catalyze vs. catalyse 
    behavioral vs. behavioural 
    color vs. colour

Searching for the terms in the above example will return the same results regardless of whether the British English spelling or the US English spelling is used.

 

When searching proper noun fields, English Possessive Stemmer, Minimum Stemmer, and British-US synonyms filters are not used, meaning you will only receive results containing the exact words used in your search. The following is a list of fields for each application where these filters are not used:

    • First Author
    • Last Author
    • Organization Names
  • iSearch Analytics Grant Records:
    • All PIs Name
    • Contact PI
    • Other PI Name
    • Other PI Organization
    • Program Officer
  • iSearch Analytics Clinical Trials:
    • Collaborator Agency
    • Contacts
    • Contacts Affiliation
    • Facility Investigator Name
    • Facility Name
    • Lead Sponsor Agency
    • Principal Investigator Affiliation
