iSearch Analytics extensively links data between grants, literature, and clinical trials, therefore, you will see some of the same fields across datasets. If you are using a custom field to perform a search, this field will have a unique syntax for the specific dataset it is found in, particularly if it related to linked data. For example, the Admin IC field can be found in all three datasets. This field has a different custom syntax in the primary Grant Records dataset (adminIC) from datasets that only contain linked grants data, e.g., Literature and Clinical Trials (nihGrants.nihAdminIc). The same scenario will be true for Literature fields found in Grant Records or Clinical Trials and so on. Be sure to check the custom field table for the dataset you intend on searching to find the exact syntax that is required.
