If you cannot find the publication which you have entered data for, it may depend on what you you have entered into the search bar (author name, PMID, DOI) and also the searchable fields you have selected. Search Assist can help you create the query in a more streamlined way, but if you have performed a manual query, there are a few things to check below. Included are hyperlinks to various tutorials and other parts of the user guide for reference:

Terms entered into the search bar
- If you attempted to search by author name, there are many variations which an author name may be listed. iSearch has disambiguated names of individuals, however, the method which the name is entered may still not match a result. See the Searching Names tutorial for more information.
- If you attempted to search for a publication by a unique identifier such as PMID (for Literature, this is the same as the System ID for publications), or DOIs, check for typos. See the Searching IDs tutorial for more information.
Note: Your publication may still not be found if it has been deleted from the source data (PubMed). You may still see the publication in other areas of the tool, however, such as Associated People and Person Profiles due to a lag in updates across datasets.

Searchable fields selected
- Depending on the term(s) you entered into the search bar, you must select the appropriate fields to search in, i.e. if you have entered a name, be sure to select author fields of interest (All authors, First author, etc). See more in Searchable fields.

Boolean operators
- If you have entered multiple items, such as a list or PMIDs, into the search bar or Search Assist, you must select the OR operator. The same rule applies to a search using multiple names and DOIs.
