A version of the accessible table of data from the topic explorer is included in the Excel export. This provides values for heatmapping option for each topic at each display level. It is also possible to export the underlying data for each record in your search results.
In Literature, the heatmapping options are Average RCR, Average APT, and % NIH flinked. You can download the RCR and APT scores by selecting these fields in the export options. Some records may not have an RCR for various reasons; see more on (Provisional) RCR scores. NIH linked is a binary (Yes/No) field you can select from the export window as well.

In the Grant dataset, the heatmapping options are % Human MeSH, % Extramural Research, and % Training. Human MeSH is based on the Human score for the grant record; this field that can be viewed in record view and downloaded alongside Animal or Molecular/Cellular scores. Note that the heatmapping for each topic box shows the average of the human scores across the records and not a percent of records with a Human MeSH term. For example, if a topic box contains three awards, and the Human MeSH scores of those awards are 0.2, 0.4, and 0.6, respectively, the average Human MeSH heatmapping score for the topic box would be 0.4, which would be shown as 40% on the Topic Explorer. Averages for topic boxes can be calculated with the use of pivot tables in Excel (download the AI label for the topic box of interest and Human MeSH score).
The other grant heatmapping fields, Extramural Research and Training, can be extrapolated/filtered from the Funding Category field. Additionally, Extramural Research contains the same activity codes as the Research Project Grant (RPG) field; therefore, you can use the RPG field as a binary field for Extramural Research.
In Clinical Trials, the heatmapping options are % NIH linked and % Early Phase. You can download the specific phases of the trials in your results by selecting the phase field in the export options or use the Early Phase binary (Yes/No) field if you are only interested in these data. NIH linked is a binary (Yes/No) field you can select from the export window as well.
