The default Table of Results (also known as the Results Table) view displays your search results as individual records on the right side of the screen. The total number of rows in the table equals the number of results shown on the dataset tab. For each dataset, the Title column contains hyperlinks for each record that can be clicked to open and view the full record. Use the page numbers/arrows above the table to navigate through the pages of results.
Column Sorting
Once you enter a dataset, the Table of Results will populate individual records from your results. They will be sorted based on a relevant metric for the dataset you are in, and you can see this denoted by the down arrow in the Table of Results header, specifically on the default sort field.
Default sorting of the results within the table view is based on the following for each dataset:
- Literature: RCR (Relative Citation Ratio)
- Grant Records: FY (Fiscal Year)
- Clinical Trials: Phase
To sort a data column in ascending or descending order, move the cursor over the header of the column. If a column is sortable, the cursor will change from a pointer to a hand. Additionally, you can reorganize the table by clicking on a column header and dragging and dropping it to the left or right in the table.
For text fields, click the header once to arrange the data in ascending order, click again to sort it in descending order. Numeric fields sort descending first. Once an order is specified for a column it will remain applied during subsequent searches until the module is exited.
To find definitions of the fields for each column, click on the info button beside the field name/header or visit the Searchable Fields section for the dataset of interest:
